Fear & Greed Index

One number for the mood of the market, and the same score for every coin below it. Two thirds of the index is breadth — how many coins are rising — and one third the median move over the window, so a single outlier cannot move it.

  • What is the crypto Fear & Greed Index?

A 0–100 reading of market mood, computed from the prices of the coins tracked on this site. Two thirds is breadth — the share of liquid coins that rose over the window — and one third the median move, so a single outlier cannot swing it. Below 25 is extreme fear, above 75 extreme greed. Short term measures the last 24 hours, long term the last 30 days.

  • How is the Fear & Greed score of a single coin calculated?

On the same 0–100 scale and with the same weights: two thirds is the coin’s RSI — the share of its recent movement that was up, read from 4-hour candles in the short term and daily candles in the long term — and one third its own move over the window. A coin missing either reading gets no score rather than a guessed one.

  • Is the Fear & Greed Index a buy or sell signal?

No. It describes sentiment, it does not time the market. Extreme fear often shows up near capitulation and extreme greed near stretched rallies, so traders use it as context for a plan they already have. Nothing here is investment advice.
